Empowering Charity Leaders: Launch of “GovernWell: Excellence in Charity Leadership”

Empowering Charity Leaders: Launch of “GovernWell: Excellence in Charity Leadership”

The conduct of our charity leaders and good governance are the key to the success of a charity both through fulfilling their strategy (both long and short-term) and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Together with five of our training partners, the Commissioner of Charities and Charity Council are pleased to announce the launch of the pilot training program, “GovernWell: Excellence in Charity Leadership”. The training programme is designed to equip charity leaders with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to lead with confidence, integrity, and accountability.

This four-module program, totalling 80 CPD hours, covers the essential pillars of effective charity leadership:

Who should Attend?

This program is designed for governing board members, sub-committee members and C-Suite and D-Suite leaders of registered charities in Singapore.

Flexible Participation

Predominantly delivered through e-learning, the programme offers charity leaders the flexibility to learn at their own pace and convenience. Participants can space out their learning journey according to their schedules and are encouraged to complete all modules within two years. For specific training dates, please refer to the individual programme schedules.

While we strongly recommend completing all four modules to gain a holistic understanding, participants may register for individual modules based on their needs and experience.

Programme Fees and Funding

The programme fees range between $1,000 and $1,200 per module. Charities may be eligible for subsidies of up to 80% through the Charities Capability Fund (CCF) Training Grant.

Participants may also enjoy discount for corporate subscriptions /group discount for SGOOD2.0 and ISCA’s Financial Stewardship for Charities. Please approach the individual training providers for more information on the corporate subscriptions/group discount.

Invest in Your Leadership. Strengthen Your Impact.

Training not only equips board members with essential knowledge and skills, but also establishes a “common language”, and “shared foundation” for the entire board.

This alignment enables members to develop a unified understanding, establish collective purpose and provide clear direction to the Executive Team and staff in pursuit of the charity’s vision and mission.  We strongly encourage all of you to dedicate time for these training courses.
